Let's prepare whte soda bread

Good with everything is the ideal side dish for soups and stews. Bicarbonate of soda is the reason why its name is soda bread. Let's prepare it together.

Ingredients:

- 450g of white flour
- 1 level teaspoon salt
- 1 level teaspoon breadsoda 
- 320-425ml of buttermilk


Method:

- Preheat the oven to 230°;
- sieve the dry ingredients in a large bowl;
- make a well in the center;
- pour most of the milk in at once;
- using one hand mix in the flour from the sides of the bowl adding more milk if necessary;
- the dough should be softish but not too wet or sticky;
- when it all comes together turn it out on to a floured table;
- Knead it lightly for a second just enough to tidy it up;
- pat the dough into a round about 2,5 cm deep;
- cut a dip cross on the top to let the faries out;
- let the cuts go over the side;
- bake in the oven for 15 minutes, then turn down the oven to 200° for 30 minutes or untill cooked;
- if in doubt tap the bottom of the bread, if it is cooked it will sound hollow.
